As far as meta tags go, Which Contribution is best and easiet to install. Do you think the search engins pay attention to them anymore- is it worth the trouble. I think at least a Title for each page would help. Does any of the contribution provide that. And, do any of the contribution have side effects?

IMO Header Tags is the best. It also gives you the ability to add category descriptions, unique page titles for each page, unique meta tags for each page. I would also look at Ultimate SEO URL's or SEO-G as either one is also a must have.

For metatags I recommend cDynamic_Meta_Tags. It'll create your description/keywords/title based on your product name, description, etc. Plus plenty of options around that. For the search engine friendly urls I highly recommend Ultimate SEO - pretty easy to setup, configure, and customize. The lastest version even allows you to specify custom URLs per product by literally typing them out alongside with the product names -- my $.02

It's definately worth the trouble. Without the changes, it is almost guaranteed that your site won't rank well.

Thanks all of you for your help. One last question, is there a contribution that will change the url after the pages have already been built?

Are you talking about SEO (makes the pages look like this: example.html instead of product_info.php?id=231522) if so theres two contributions for that, just search for SEO and you'll find it.
