Blank Admin Section

Development and testing of site was done on 3 different servers, but when uploaded to the live server, the admin section is showing up blank. I did a fresh install of osCommerce and overwrote every file except the two configuration files, but still nothing. The catalog is showing up fine and I can purchase orders, but anything under mysite.com/admin is blank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This is a common error: usually happens if you place osc catalog/admin root files into the language/english folders by mistake

Just wanted to wrap things up on this, as it was a somewhat vague posting. From what I remember, it was the unset($this) problem. Run into that many times unfortunately. Good luck to all!

OK, '$this' is the problem I am having... Where is the solution, please? I'm normally good with searches, but I'm pulling "Search results limited to first 1000" here, so some specific direction would be greatly appreciated.

In his words, "You only needed to do a search for $this on the forum and you'd have found hundreds, if not thousands, of replies. "

That's a dead give away that this issue should ideally be repaired or documented, if not already. I know how frustrating it can be providing support for software where a FAQ is non-existant, inadequate or not sufficiently conspicuous. I appreciate the efforts and hopefully I'll have the resources in time to repay in kind.

For my own part, all I can say is that I chose osCommerce because it is available as an RPM on my Linux Distro (Mandriva 2008.0). That makes applying security updates easier, which is even more important to me than having the thing work. :sweating: I never thought to search for "$this" because I am a victim of my own experience; Most search engines will either give an error on the non-alphanumeric or just strip it out. I'm doing OK picking up MySQL, but PHP is coming a little slower. I'm just glad to have someone else online on what for most is a Holiday. I've owned the domain for about ten months and it would be nice to have a sale or two to pay for renewal.

Thank you on behalf of myself and Major Pain,
