Dmacman
Hi All, As a favor, I helped a friend setup his osCommerce and he is using PayPal. He got an order reciept from them and the item name is the name of his site. IE his site is called "Q12 project" and he sells CDs and T-Shirts. I have them configured in osC correctly with a name and Product Model, but none of that info is in the PayPal details of the order or in the email? Anyone run into anything like this? I checked out osC and PayPal and I do not see any options to change/fix this? Thanks in advance, Don PS the item detail and email do not have an order number. I would think the module would pass on the product number to PayPal. Edited June 23, 2007 by Dmacman

Guest
You can install the contribution called 'Better PayPal Description' but...be forewarned...that PayPal has a character restriction in place regarding the amount of data that can be sent. A few examples: Buyer orders 1 t-shirt. That item title will appear just fine on the screen when they hit PayPal checkout. Buyer orders 5 t-shirts. Courtesy of the data restrictions...maybe half of the order will appear onscreen in PayPal checkout and cutoff abruptly where the character limit occurs. Buyer orders 20 t-shirts...and you have Better PayPal Description installed...and their screen hangs and dies and never gets to PayPal because there is way too much data in the shopping cart. Page Not Responding. Done. Over. If your buyers typically order only 1 or 2 things....you're probably good to go with that contrib. But, if you sell something where it's not unusual for people to place a number of different items in the cart prior to checkout? Forget it. Just my opinion. If you're still interested and believe it would be just fine for you....here's the link to the contrib: Better PayPal Description
