martinstan Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hi I'm trying to modify a store so that there is no online purchase. I know there are some contributions already around this but I don't think, from reading the brief summaries, that they are quite what I'm after. My knowledge of PHP is limited. Here is what I'm trying to do and I'm sure it would be a useful addition to the contributions if someone can help. I think I'd change the 'Buy Now' graphic to 'Order' and when clicked it would go to a page like this: This page could then have an 'Order Now' button which when clicked would go through to a page saying 'thank you for your order. We'll contact you shortly'. Or something similar. It would just then send the store owner a form to mail email with the enquiry and product SKU. Can anyone help/ advise on how I could achieve this? Thanks in advance
martinstan Posted June 23, 2007 Author Posted June 23, 2007 Hmmm..actually giving this a bit more thought, in an ideal world it would work from the 'Checkout' page like this: ??
martinstan Posted June 26, 2007 Author Posted June 26, 2007 Hi Glad we're all back! I'm not trying to 'bump' this but I have stumbled across a site that does exactly what I'm trying to achieve. Has anyone any ideas on how I could modify an oscommerce store to do this? http://www.trade-express.com/fashion-jewelry/beaded-jewelry/ Thanks for looking.
pynchon Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Hmmm..actually giving this a bit more thought, in an ideal world it would work from the 'Checkout' page like this: ?? you'd need to 'make' the graphic in photoshop/fireworks or some other graphics programme ... and give the new graphic the same filename as the original. Upload it so it over-writes the original and bobs your uncle ... sorted. jk
martinstan Posted June 26, 2007 Author Posted June 26, 2007 Thanks for your reply Pynchon. Not that simple unfortunately. The button isn't the problem. Check out the trade express link I posted. What I'm after is by-passing the shopping cart and replacing this with an equiry cart. Which would send notification to the store owner. The store owner could then contact customer with details on buying the product. The nearest I've got to this is this really good contribution: disable_buynow_and_shoppingcart1 but I somehow need the store owner to receive details of the product/products that the customer is interested in. This could still theoretically be within the customer orders in the admin area.
