Hi, I'm a new beginner to this osCommerce, I want to setup a e-commerce with this. I've uploaded the files from osCommerce to my web server (say www.mysite.com), then how do I bring up this osCommerce ?

Go to www.mysite.com/install/index.php to start installing osc. Once finished, you can check your front store at www.mysite.com and admin panel at www.mysite.com/admin

For redesigning osc layout, search the forum or buy osc bokks available at the bookstore near you or read Redesigning osCommerce.

thank you for your help. now I got the first page up. But I can get it to link to my database successfully. I'm using the phpMyAdmin Database Manager Version 2.9.2 to create a database on my localhost, where do I create a new user ? I don't seem to be able to find this function ?

Unless you install a contrib that lets you do this, you need to do it from the catalog side (as a customer would).

To create a new user? You mean add another admin? That I believe you have to manually add a new admin in the PHPAdmin.

If you mean shopper as user, then just simply create a dummy on the front shop, www.mysite.com and click on login/register.
