Paypal-again

So me and mr. paypal_ipn had a major fall out last night and i will not be using him again.

 

instead i've decided to use the default paypal module and try to fiddle with it to overcome it's little problem with orders not being saved.

 

The easiest method i have seen suggested is to set up redirection back to my store after payment has been made, so customers will come back even if they don't click "continue".

My problem here is that i accept payment from three sources: ebay, and from two of my websites.

obviously i can't have someone buying from ebay and ending up on the success page of my website! (am i right in thinking this is what would happen?)

 

So what are my other options? i have seen a fix which involves having the item title sent to paypal at checkout, so i will have a record of the ite ordered even if it is just on the paypal invoice, is there any way i can send attributes to paypal as well?

 

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

So i can have a return address set for my main website in paypal, but for my other website i can modify the link that sends the user to paypal to include an overriding return url.

 

I think.... if i can find the code to change

It works-perfectly. if a customer forgets to press the return to merchant button the order isn't stored in admin- but i have a paypal record of exactly what they ordered together with attributes. If someone comes across this thread who has the problem i recomend the contribution above together with the paypal automatic redirect (if you don't have more than one store)
