chengone Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I installed osCommerce in ../public_html/asb/ When I typed in my domain name www.asb.com, I see the directory and files on the page. I do not see the oscommerce page. Did something when wrong with the installation? Are there files missing on the asb directory for osCommerce?
web-project Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 no, the files in asb folder, the default location for domain name www.asb.com on your web hosting is ../public_html/ Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Bloged Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 my domain www.asb.com points to ../public_html/asb/I have another domain name which points to ../public_html/ Did you configure your shop properly so that it knows it is set in the public_html/asb directory instead of thinking it is in the public_html directory? You should upload that file... otherwise try typing in www.yourdomain.com/index.php And see if you're hosting supports PHP! Grtz, Arjan Gelderblom I think computer viruses should count as life. I have installed my Oscommerce store via Cpanel/Fantastico and now I have the following:http://www.brazilianlink.com.au/store. However, if I try to access my store via http://www.brazilianlink.com.au, I get a message of INDEX OF: DIRECTORIES /STORE ..... I am wondering how can I do to move my store folder to my root domain, so that I can access straight via www.brazilianlink.com.au ?? Do you have any idea ?? Thanks in advance. Cheers
mistoffeles Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 Most people generally do one or the other of the following: 1) Set up a store and nothing else, in which case you could just put the catalog files in the root directory or alternately create an index.php file that does nothing but immediately redirect to the main page of the store. 2) Set up a whole website of which the store is only one part, in which case you simply have a link somewhere on your site to the main page of the store.
