I'm importing/exporting from China but need to configure a shopping cart like this? I have customers that will buy individual products but my shipments are by the containers. I want my customers to know how much room they have left before they fill up the container. Is this possible or far-fetched? Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Guest Posted June 19, 2007 Share Posted June 19, 2007 search the contributions for "dimensions" among the results you shoud find shipping modules with dimensions support. There is also an old module that directly supports product dimensions. The idea is during checkout shipping (or elsewhere) you can create the necessary number of containers based on the dimensions from the products in the cart. So for each product in the cart you calculate the volume, add it to the total volume and then you have the number of containers. Now this same process can also be done when someone views his shopping cart. (either directly or via another module like the shipping estimates). You need to do customizations though.
