Hi all,

 

Im really stuck and im basically teaching myself web design and php from scratch... the basic web stuff im ok with but the rest ekkkk

 

I have uploaded the catalog files to my server ... and access is set to 777. I have set up a mysql database.

 

Ok so in the OS Commerce Help Doc it says

 

"Open your web browser and go to http://yourserver/catalog/install/ and click on the

Install button".

 

I have done this but the install button is in fact a php file which opens in dream weaver. My hosting support has kindly suggested that I need to edit the text in this php file and save it.

 

Im assuming a input my database name, user name and password somewhere in this php Jargon...but where ?

 

Am I totally off the track ???

 

Any suggestions will be most welcome ... but please bear with me ... :-) cheers

Your hosting company are having a laugh.

 

If you see the text of the php file when you go to the install file then PHP is not installed on your server.
