mmontalbano
Hello I understand from reading some posts that the Template Monster templates aren't well recieved here BUT I have one and I'd like to install the thing. Problem I'm having is it keeps telling me it cannot connect to the server with the data I'm giving it. I'm assuming that the info should be: Database Server = IP of hosting pretty basic here unless I'm missing something Database User Name = The user name given for Cpanel login? Or user name of a MySQL database I need to set up? Which one? Database Passsword = depending on the answer to Database User name the password associated with that. Datbase Name = name of the Mysql database I set up? Persistent connections = Should this be on or off? Sesssions storage = Should I use files or database? Any help you could give me would be a help even though I realize most think the templates suck because you can't upgrade fixes. Thanks

Thanks From the looks of it, you need to set-up configure your osC site to connect to the database. All the info that is being asked is info that is needed to connect to your database. If you already had set-up your osC site prior to buying the template from Template Monster, I think all you need to do is just copy your old config.php file to the where the template is. Powered By osC 2.2RC2a STS 4.5.8 - HTC 2.6.3 - FP 1.5.9 - BCH 1.0.

I didn't have OScommerce set up prior to installing the template. I thought from the looks of the files sent with the template that I didn't need it preinstalled. So what you are saying is install oscommerce through the Cpanel which works like a charm. Then load the template files into teh root in a folder along with the current install and replace the template's config.php file with the once from the working osc install? There is also a admin/includes/config.php should that be replaced as well? If this is all that is needed that would be great.
