Problems With Base Prices Contrib

Guest

Recommended Posts

Do you know the Base Prices contrib??

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2737

I don't understand the installation instructions at all... I only have minimal knowledge of PHP and can't cope with it... :(

Does anyone have understandable instructions for this contrib? Something like... "search for 'blablabla' in blupblup.php and change em like this:..."

...or help me out with another contrib? *despairing*

Thx in advance!

First, get yourself a couple free software apps. To work on osCommerce you should have a reliable FTP program. Filezilla works for me. The second is a PHP editor. There are some nice ones like PHP designer (which I think is no longer free, but older versions work great and if found, are free) there are others. Google PHP Editor free, or something like that.

After making a backup of your site, FTP to your desktop the file to be modified (blupblup.php) Scroll through until you find the code to be changed (blablabla) and after confirming that it is the exact code (not similar to), insert or replace that from the contribution. It may all look foreign, but once you look at the files, you will start to see things that make since, like links, pictures, calls to the database, etc.

OsCommerce is designed to be used by the DIYer. If you get stuck, search the board, then if nothing found ask questions. Give it a roll.

Okay, the problem is solved!

I have found the installation instructions... they are within the modified files. I thought I would never find them... luckily I browsed some of the modified php files and saw all neccessary instructions inside. :)
