Initial Value Of A Field

I am looking to add an initial value to the field for PURCHASE ORDER field for Checkout

That field is incremental from the previous. Open the database using PHPMyAdmin and open that table and change the entry. All new ones will increment from your entry.

Well, what I want is when someone checks out, and they select PURCHASE ORDER. I want the field where it asks for the number to have a default value

 

Is that possible
