Session_save_path() Error

Hi, I'm not sure is customers to my store are having problems, but in the error logs for my site I keep getting errors like this:

 

[sun Jun 17 05:39:57 2007] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] PHP Warning: session_save_path() [<a href='function.session-save-path'>function.session-save-path</a>]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 10098 is not allowed to access owned by uid 0 in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/xxxxxx.org/httpdocs/store/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 148, referer: http://www.xxxxxx.org/store/index.php

 

As my host has PHP operating in Safe Mode and that cannot be changed, does anyone know if there are any contributions which will remove this error? What actually causes this error and is it actually a problem?
