apropos Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I was having issues with the install failing at step 2. This is a fresh install of oscommerce, with apache2 php5 and mysql. After turning register globals=On I was still getting the same error. That's when I noticed that php5-mysql package was not installed. After I installed the php5-mysql the install completed 100%. Thanks to all for the posts which lead me to the fix! Jamey

I do understand that with people that are getting their stuff hosted that's not a possibility. But, just thought I was share that. Hopefully it will help someone else. J
