Permissions Issue On Files Created Using Gd Library

Hi, I am having real trouble with my file permissions on image files created using the GD Library, using the "Bigger Product Image" contrib (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3986/category,9/search,product+image/page,2)

 

Unfortunately this is stopping me from getting our sites running live, which is why I am hoping we can get this sorted asap.

 

I believe the issue is with the way oscommerce uses the GD library to create resampled images.

 

Currently I upload an image e.g. image1.jpg with chmod 644 permissions, then there are two additional resampled images created using the gd library, image1-100x100.jpg and image1-300x300.jpg.

 

The problem is that those two images then are inaccessible as they have chmod 600 permissions with the owner being “apache”. Therefore I am unable to do anything with these files including even changing the permissions manually.

 

Worst part is, then to get access to my files I need my host to reset permissions / owner on the files for me.

 

If you could help in any way, it would be much appreciated. Getting desperate for a solution!.
