bows2babydolls
i just logged onto my account and checked who's online and there is one ip address (guest) who has racked up £500 of products. it was just all too suspicious so i came on here did a search and found i should change admin->configuration->sessions->prevent spider sessions to true and i also went onto my cpanel and banned the ip address. By the time i had finished (about 2 minutes) the total was up to £650, so glad i had came online when i did. But i have no idea why someone would set something up to do this? can anyone shed some light?
Jack_mcs
The Prevent Spiders settings is for the search engines. If setting that has stopped the problem, then those were search bots. However, banning their IP's is a mistake since that means your pages will not get listed. You want the search engines to search your site as much as possible, as long as they don't get into the secure pages.
