Guest Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 i've been trying for two days. i transferred my old files to my new space includign the database. somehow i can't log into admin. i'm not sure if i'm doing it the right way. are there any ways to transfer the database without remembering the old username and password? i've set up oscommerce at the new site using fantastico, it's a clean install with nicely done configure.php. i don't wanna mess all up so now i'm trying to migrate my database, hoping the username and password would follow my configure.php. i've tried: backup using my old oscommerce then importing the sql into the new database using phpadmin. bad method. can't login. use phpadmin again, to export my old database and import into new database. worse, sql errors everywhere. i'm on the verge of jumping out from my window. had so much problems trying to set up oscommerce and get the items up and running the way i wanted them to, now i need to migrate to live site. i don't wanna delay this any further. my friend is pressing very hard. any help? *whelps*

You should be able to edit the confiure.php files to reflect the new password / user name. The actual data base is not password protected, access to it is, so if you download the database to your desktop you should be able to upload it through my admin php. You may need ot create a new database eith th edesired name, and then set the users to it, then try importing it. If you need further clarification/help please give me a shout.
