.htaccess

I have 1 root directory thats hosts a web site running OsCommere.

The one website has also got a few directories that hav domains aliased to them, these also run sCommerce.

The problem I have is wth the .HTACCESS

If I duplicate the rules in .htaccess for the mainsite, just caging the directories i.e. the admin directories for the aliased sites and then in each of the directories use their own .htpassword would this work?

I have tried and creating each aliased site its own .htaccess and htpassword does not work, I presume its because they all have the same root desination which is then reading the main sites .htaccess

Hope someone can make sense of this, otherwise may just tr and hope I dont break anything

I believe the .htpassword file needs to be somewhere in the directory, or subdirectories covered by the .htaccess file. I don't think they can all be in the same place.
