Ssl Connection Not Writing To Database - Urgent Help Please.

Hello All,

I have an installation of OSC on Dreamhost. This installation has been running for years. I just recently moved to Dreamhost.

Here is my problem:

When an order is placed, the credit card information is not recorded on the orders table. This happens only when the site is in secured mode (SSL).

If I reconfigure my config file so that the secure portion goes through the unsecured http for testing purposes, then all the order details do get recorded.

What is making OSC behave different in regards to writing to a database table when in SSL vs nonSSL mode?.

Please help! I am pulling my hair with this issue and don't have much hair left.

Thank you all.

I do not think osc would have such a problem (as far as I am aware). It is more likely a problem with your host/server/ssl.

First of all, thank you for replying to my post.

After many hours troubleshooting my setup I finally found the issue. It had nothing to do with the SSL certificate or OSC. As I mentioned before, my osc setup had been running without issues for several years before transfering to Dreamhost.

The reason things were not working properly was because my NON-SSL setup was running PHP 4.4.X and the SSL setup was running PHP 5. I did not pay attention when I first set up my hosting account. I though that once you set up the non-SSL portion it would be the same for the SSL side. Well I was wrong. Sure enough both non-SSL and SSL sides were running different php versions. Once both of these were set to match, then osc started runnning perfectly again.

I hope if someone else has issues with Dreamhost, I would recomend to check their php settings for both non-SSL and SSL sides as this was not obious at first.

Again, thank you for taking the time to answer to my post. I appreciate you taking the time.

Best regards,

Sandro.

How did you fix it? Did Dreamhost have to do it for you?
