aznkpride0922 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I'm just curious. Since it is the only protection along with ssl that I have set for my admin page... Ummm.. compared to the login system using ssl and mysql, which is more reliable? I know my question may not make any sense... but I just wanted to know how secure or.. how safe it is to protect admin page using .htaccess. It just seems.... not so safe. oh and one more thing. if I move my admin directory outside... like outta catalog and name it differently, would it still work without touching any codes?
Avec Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 A properly set up .htaccess is the way to go. Google .htaccess security and see for yourself. As for the admin directory, you will need to make a couple changes to the config.php files, but minor stuff.
