I am selling cosmetics and need multiple colors for one product and need to give the ability to add a quantity next to the color.

 

This is what i thought, tell me if you guys think of something better please.

 

Have lets say Lipstick as a category and putting the picture of the lipstick in the categories picture image, and having all the products under that "Lipstick" category to be the colors, so the colors are the actual products with product IDs and the lipstick its self is the category.

 

But in order to do this, i will have to remove linkage to products so that the user cannot click on the color and go to the products info page, and only be able to put in a quantity and add to cart.

Another way would be to use an attributes contribution and make each color an attribute of the product 'Lipstick' That way you can have more than one type of lipstick under that catagory. To have pictures of the different colors use one of the contributions on additional product pictures.

I would need to replicate this exactly. See how there colors you can add the quantity.
