I am trying to write a new contribution but I do not know if it would work

 

Here is my idea:

 

- database: products = write new products_price_2

 

- admin/categories.php: write new box to include price_2

 

- somewhere you have to add that if a customer wants say 10 pieces of a product

that it should use price_2 instead of the normal price

 

So it should from 1 to 9 pieces use normal price

and from 10 to undefined use price_2

 

Would that be possible?

As I read from the contri customer must always buy say 12 items to have the discount but if the want say 13 items there is no discount

or do I understand the contri wrong?

You set up the price breaks as you want on the product edit page. It won't allow for every conceivable option (I think the limit is 6 or 8, although that can be changed). Normal a range is used: 1-4 is $10, 5-8 is $9 and so on.
