Weird Admin Problem

Hi folks...I think I inherited a nightmare here. I just started working with a new company, setting up an osCommerce site. I wen through and did a fresh install of OSC and everything went fine, except my Admin is a screwy.

Under configuration, it has all "stock" values and they all appear 8 times each! See attached picture for a better idea of what I mean.

I know OSC was installed on this server previously via Fantastico, could that have anything to do with it? Also, I loaded it with a free template from template monster, could that have affected anything?

What can I do to fix this? I am not a OSC master by any means but I know my way around it fairly well. Thanks in advance!

The problem is the free template....... I have seen this before. The added values are in sql you used in the install. That is why it is free.

Here is the pointer about installing any template.

Install a stock osc the latest version, then move the customized files over to the fresh install. These are most of the files just inside your folder.

thanks for your reply. i went in through phpMyAdmin and took a look at the SQL for "configuration" to see if I could find what you were referring to and everything is listed there only once, not 8. How would I go about fixing the problem?

*EDIT* Ok, I found where the extra names are coming from under "configuration_title", now, which to delete is the question? i may just backup the db as start deleting away if I have to.

I don't think you understand what I am saying.

If you look at the oscommerce.sql that is in your install of your template you will see the added entries that the template maker messed with. The only way to clean it up is to drop all tables in the database and insert the stock oscommerce.sql You will then have the incorrect products and images for those products. This is also a security issue as I have seen several with customer accounts and sid ids in the install.

Or follow the instructions I gave you before.

Install a stock osc the latest version, then move the customized files over to the fresh install. These are most of the files just inside your folder.

"drop all tables in the database and insert the stock oscommerce.sql"

i dropped all the tables i didnt need and now have 1-142 respectively...but when I change the store name etc it doesn't actually change it on the site. i dont want to have to do a complete reinstall if i dont have to, where can i just get the "stock" oscommerce.sql? i dont mind if the products dont sync or whatever, i'm doing it from scratch anyway.
