Custom/private Product Url

Hi Everyone,

 

I am looking to provide a custom product through the store that only a select group of folks can view and purchase (by providing them a direct link to it within an Email) that the general population cannot. IOW, I would like to be able to set the 'Out of Stock' function in OSCommerce and still have it accessible by providing a direct link to the product.

 

Can someone direct me to a contribution or code hack that can accomplish this?

I'm looking for something very similar to this but group pricing won't work for me. The purchasers for our specific product can't be added to a group as they may not be signed up yet and they need instant access to the product.

 

I was really hoping to find like a discount code that is based on product ID and not order ID. Or even better, if they were required to enter a code or password in order to add the product to their cart.

 

It seems like such a simple thing, I've debated doing it myself, but I was really hoping someone has already made something like this to save me some time. Anyone have any suggestions?
