Trying To Upload Catalog - Newbie Here

I am not sure if this topic has already been discussed (my apology if it has), but I am having difficulty understanding how to "upload the catalog directory" to my server. If I paid money for this template, should the catalog directory be inside the zip folder?

 

I have already bought the domain name (along with the SSL certificate) and uploaded the template to the server. However, the instructions are calling for me to "upload the catalog directory".

 

 

I was given some documentation, but it is slightly vague. The documentation says:

 

NEW Installation:

 

-Upload the catalog directory to your server using FTP

-All PHP files must be uploaded in ASCII mode, not binary mode

-The structure of osCommerce is:

catalog

catalog/admin

extras

 

-Upload the "catalog folder" which includes the admin folder to your document root using FTP.

 

 

 

Does anyone know how to do this? or have video/screen shot tutorials? Do I need a catalog directory to edit my store text? From what it seems, I can access the administration page, but I have no idea what the purpose of this catalog folder/directory is?

If you've downloaded the packed file of the latest osC version, you have to unzip it on your local PC and then you'll see the mentioned directory structure.

 

From this directory structure you got to upload the catalag branch with all of it's subdirectories to your webserver in order to make your shop work. Basically it's just copying files. Nothing like one of the known windows installation procedures.
