Ajeh Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 Search Engines do not like ? and such in the address. The Search Engine Friendly URL uses _ and / but, this does not work right for everyone. Many cannot use this feature at this time. You will have to test this to see if it works properly through out the shop for you.
Guest Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 What does that mean?John <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is it safe to use by now? I'd like google to pick up more than just the front page of my site.
♥Vger Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 The default 'Search Engine Safe URL's' has not been altered since MS2 came out. They will either work on your server or they will not. Most likely they won't. Vger
wizardsandwars Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I'd like google to pick up more than just the front page of my site. But don't think that you have to have SEF URLs to have google index more than the front page of your site. That simply isn't true, and hasn't been for years now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
operationparts Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I'm having problems with google finding my oscommerce pages. My current page http://www.operationparts.com has had new products indexed in google days after they were added but nothing on my oscommerce page shows up, it has been there for a couple of months: http://www.operationparts.com/oscommerce2/index.php I'm wondering why the oscommerce content does not get indexed, one thing that I just thought of is that there are no links from my current page to the oscommerce pages. I just figured that anything in sub directories would be found. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
