soupgfx Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I finished this store back in January. Please let me know your thoughts. http://www.promotobillet.com - Click on "Products" button to access the store.
Andrew Yuen Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I like how your store is integrated with the rest of your site. I would change a few things: remove the (->) in your category infobox. Remove the request counter in the footer. Make your manufactures a dropdown box instead of a list to minimize white space and save room. Move the quick find infobox up as I believe it is more important then the manufacturers box. Andrew Yuen osCommerce, Community Team
oschellas Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Nice job! Some of my thoughts: -move the search box to the top of the right column -hide shopping cart box if empty, or place below search box -remove date and request from the bottom, use another tool to track customer behavior like Google Analytics, or server stats to track customer behavior -could use some more dynamic, animated gif / flash on for example the catalog index page -a piece of web 2.0 would be nice, such as the ajax lighthouse to replace with the custom product image popup
radders Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Looks good. A couple of thoughts: The free shipping offer is not visible to anyone arriving from a search engine as it is only on the home page. I assume that you will refund the full amount in the case of returns because you just deduct shipping and that is free anyway :D
soupgfx Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 Andrew, Thanks! Since I am new to all of this and barely getting my feet wet with OSC, can you help me with those items? - How do you remove the (->)? in the category boxes? - How do you remove the request counter in the footer? - How do you make the manufacturers a dropdown box? - How would you move the quick find box up and over to the right hand column, under the shopping cart box? The more I dig into this, the more excited I am to learn these things. Thanks for the feedback and if you are able to walk me through some of these items. -Hilary Paige SoupGraphix.com I like how your store is integrated with the rest of your site. soupgfx Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 Oschellas, I would like to use Google Analytics to track customers as they move through the shopping cart. I've tried installing the small script that GA gives you but haven't been able to have it report back like it does for the HTML pages. What is the secret to installing a proper code for it to work? What is web 2.0? Ajax lighthouse? Sorry I'm confused.... -Hilary Paige SoupGraphix.com Nice job! soupgfx Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 Radders, How would you include that information (text) to each product? Ha! Not my problem... It's my client's problem to figure that one out. -Hilary Paige SoupGraphix.com Looks good.A couple of thoughts: The free shipping offer is not visible to anyone arriving from a search engine as it is only on the home page.
