kdogg Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I'm stumped here. I have my shopping cart set to give free shipping on items over $150.00. I have had this guy place his order 3 times now, its $140.00 and he keeps getting free shipping. 1 x ECHO 1 M4-A1 2007 ECHOM4A1 0% $140.00 $140.00 $140.00 $140.00 1 x Stealth Or EXCEL, 5000 Count Bag Of .20g BB's (FREE) 0% $0.00 $0.00 $0.00 $0.00 Sub-Total: $140.00 Free Shipping: $0.00 Total: $140.00 Does anyone has any idea why it would keep giving him free shipping? I've double and tripple checked, I've created test accounts, I can't duplicate this problem but every time he orders, he gets free shipping.

Could it be that he's being charged tax which is pushing him over the $150 limit?
kdogg Posted June 7, 2007 Author Posted June 7, 2007 Could it be that he's being charged tax which is pushing him over the $150 limit? No, the $140 is the cost of the item, $140 is what he paid. I also have noticed that this problem has extended to order both inside and outside of the state. Others are getting free shipping now.
kdogg Posted June 7, 2007 Author Posted June 7, 2007 I just spoke to one of my customers. He told me it gave him the option to choose free shipping. I guess it said something like: Free shipping on items over $150 dollars. He clicked it which is why he got free shipping even though his order was only $140.00. I've never heard of it giving the customer the option. Normally it won't display the other options and just forces you to free shipping if the order is over 150. Why would it be giving UPS pricing and giving the option to choose free shipping? Obviously, the customers shouldn't be click it but it also shouldn't be displayed.
HSMagic Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Are you using the default "free shipping" in osc or do you have any other free shipping modules?
burningspleen Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 By default free shipping is based on the total price (including tax) - you'll need to modify checkout_shipping.php to apply free shipping to the subtotal. To do this, change ($order->info['total'] to ($order->info['subtotal'].

To do this, change ($order->info['total'] to ($order->info['subtotal']. Ok well that helps me greatly for the problem with taxable customers but the order in question had no tax on it so the total, subtotal fix wouldn't explain that issue. The order above was just $140 dollars even, no tax. Again, thanks for that info though, thats going to help me with in state taxable customers.
