Category Images On Index Page

Hi folks,

 

I have two questions and this site is what I want the result to be like: http://soundspaces.com/catalog/index.php is

 

I have two questions that I hope someone can help me with. I LOVE this site by the way. I have a few questions that I hope someone won't mind taking the time to answer. I read a thread about images and was able to make the "Click to enlarge" image work as intended. However, below are some of my questions:

 

1. How did you get the images to stay one size on your index page and then display the images in a large size on the products page?

2. Also, how did you get the products to display horizontally on the index page and the products page?
