Kelliesdesigns Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I've had osC "running" for a few days now with a few products - I have thousands more and I'm scared to add them while I'm still having customers report issues. This is the latest report of an error: 1226 - User 'kelliesd_p_os1' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 50000) select customers_firstname, customers_lastname from customers where customers_id = '188' [TEP STOP] I'm assuming that this is a problem with my ISP's server? Interestingly, when this happenes and the site can't be viewed, if I go into cpanel and manually add another user to the database - it immediately brings my site back live. It's like that must close open connections. Does osC have issues with hanging connections? Also, I'm getting reports that my site is slow. That's never been an issue before osC - is there anything I can do to "optimize" the site to run a little faster. If it's slow now when only a few products are added, I'm worried I'll be at a stand-still when everything is added.

There are changes you can make that will improve your shops performance, but if you are having problems already, they probably won't be enough to help once your site starts to get busy. Moving to a better host now, before your site is busy, will be easier now than later. I suggest you start looking around for a host better equipped to run oscommerce. Jack Jack - I'm totally in agreeance that it is my host. I use ipower and have for 5 years. For 5 years everything was wonderful. And then they had "issues" and my site was offline for 3 weeks. They could never recover their server and moved my accont to another server. *I* had backups but they did me no good as the cart I was using wasn't compatible to the new server they moved me to so I started over from scratch. Three weeks is unexcepatable to be down in any case. osC was one of the "pre-installs" they have on the new server. You'd certainly think that if it's a pre-install that they would be capable of handling it. Any suggestions on a ISP that doesn't have it's head stuck where the sun doesn't shine?
