jetcom77
Hi I am trying to password protect the admin area of my oscommerce site ( osCommerce 2.2-MS2 ) , i have tried htaccess and many other things, but with no success. So i am thinking i could use the phpMyAdmin control panel tp password protect the admin area. Is this possible ?, or is their a better way ? Jack_mcs
No, that won't help you. The phpmyadmin script is just a tool to manipulate the database. The password protection needs to be done before the database is loaded, if using .htaccess. Have you checked with your host to see if they offer the option to password protect? If they don't and you can't get .htaccess to work, then you can install the Admin Access contribution. It is overkill for this but will work. There may be other admin password contributions too.
