Paypal Works Sometimes And Does Not Work Sometimes

On a store that I have been running for a while there were 4 PalPal orders in the last month that did not go through. At the same time there were

a couple of PalPal order that did go through. As far as I can tell the code nor the server has changed in the time period, and there are some

missing order numbers in the list of orders. The store did get the email from PayPal saying the money was being sent. Any idea of what could be

causing the Hit and Miss from PayPal?
