devink Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 I guess this has been asked many times, although I couldn't find the answer. How do you set up a product that can be downloaded? I have activated the option, but I don't get any extra options on the product creation page, such as the download location. TIA Many Thanks, Steve
msaunders Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 Well, Sorry I cant help you , but I recognise your name from the jshop forums. Have you abandoned it for oscommerce ?
Trusten Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 https://www.mystore.com/catalog/admin/ then choose 'catalog' product attributes then under product attributes, at the bottom, select which product, then just below that, put the naem of the download able file. etc. etc. etc. g'luck
devink Posted November 4, 2002 Author Posted November 4, 2002 Thanks, I now see the download section in the cuustomers account when a purchase is made. However, there is no clickable link. To test, I simply made the download file the site logo. Does the file need to be anywhere specific? Do you know how it actually controls access to the file? TIA Many Thanks, Steve
Trusten Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 it has to be in catalog/download/ that's all i know i don't know how it controls access, but i tell you one thing, if anyone ever tries to reach teh file without the shop, they can't. .htaccess kicks in. try it.
Trusten Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 you're welcome. excuse me while i go have a nervous break down now....
