Changing The Order That Products Appear

Hey, i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to set the products default order of appearance. I would like to have a set order of products, even if I add new ones. I have three main products and then potentially a few sub products, but I want those three main products to always be in a certain order and to always be the top products shown.

Also, does anyone know why my admin looks so different than the one in the online Knowledge Base?

So currently it sets the order of my products to be newest to oldest. I was wondering if there was any way to set the product order to be more specific without recreatinga bunch of products
