zhexiang
If you want to add logo at the bottom of the osc, open /includes/fotter.php. Insert the <img sc='' /> where you want the logo to show up. PS: Just cuious, why would anyone want the logo to appear at the bottom, instead of at the top?

It wasnt my main site logo, just another smaller one. It was like a small questionaire. But when I put it in the rest of my stuff including my ssl seal , paypal logo and main page products just vanished even though I could see them in my ;logo and homepage settings' . Weird! What is ' Insert the <img sc='' />' ? Im not up on all this stuff . can you go into a bit of detail with it ? I would much appreciate it Thanks

Nullachtfuffzehn
Most likely you've inserted some code without closing some HTML tags, so the rest after it ain't displayed no more. It's hard to tell you what the reason is unless you post the code in here.

germ
I realize this is probably already self evident, but the Cardinal rule for testing software (web pages included) is this: ALWAYS have a safe backup of the file(s) you're editing. That way, if you make a mistake, or don't like the reult, just replace the edited file(s) with the backups and you're right back where you started. I'm honestly not saying this in a demeaning manor, I'm just trying to help you (and anyone else reading this) avoid future mishaps. As someone who has developed software for over 20 years, I learned this lesson the hard way myself. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ
Without a reliable backup, it looks like the best you can do now is post copies of the files you've edited, and hope someone can find the problem. The HTML code you posted looks OK, you probably just inserted it in the wrong place. And, just for the record, I've made the same mistake (not having a reliable backup) more than once...... :-" You know what they say, "To err is human, to forgive Divine." ;) If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. zhexiang
How do I get to my osC root index.php. Havn't a clue about all this stuff, very new to it thanks It's in index.php. Just open index.php. If you upload everything including default catalog folder, then it's /catalog/index.php. By the way, from my last reply, it's an XHTML tag for inserting image like gif, jpeg, etc: <img src="your_logo.gif" />.

spax
That looks like index.php but you don't want to be touching that part of code. You can pretty much use osC out of the box, to give you a functional store. However, if you want to change its appearance or functionality, you need a degree of knowledge. You don't need to be an expert but you should have some understanding of HTML at the very least. Reading your postings, I don't think you have that knowledge so I would advise you to find a tutorial or two and learn some basics, before you try changing things. You don't need to be an expert but you should have some understanding of HTML at the very least. Reading your postings, I don't think you have that knowledge so I would advise you to find a tutorial or two and learn some basics, before you try changing things. First, find the file you changed and download a copy to a dedicated directory - NOT your oscommerce directory on your computer! :) Then, go to where you downloaded and unzipped your osCommerce files. Find the file you changed in there and upload that copy to your server. If you made changes to this file then uploaded it, unzip a fresh copy and use that. That should put your page back to the way it was when you began your modifications. Now, go to the dedicated folder where you downloaded the corrupted file and find the bit of code you changed and post it here so we can take a look at it. I agree with one of the other posters - it's probably a missing html tag or something similar - perhaps a missing escape character though I didn't see where one might go at first glance. Hope this helps, FaShUnPhOtOg Went back and looked at the code some more... you're missing a lot of quotation marks from some of the values that I'm used to seeing quotation marks around - like color values and such (color=#000000 instead of color="#000000", for example. Not sure if that would make a difference but it's a start...
