aflores3
I would appreciate if you all would look at my store. In addition to looking at the OSC aspect of the template based site, I would like ideas about how to easily relay the concept of our clothing. The idea is that the shirts have a design on them containing a word. When the person wearing the shirt looks in the mirror, they see a different word (i.e. This shirt reads "True" & in the mirror you read "Love"). We set up a booth at a local trade show and had an unbelievable response. However, from the site there isnt much of a response at all. I can only attribute it to the customer not fully experiencing how amazing these designs are (i'm sure I think they're more amazing since I have a personal tie to them but they're interesting at the least). I utilize Ggle's Anlytcs to track stats of my site, and people aren't even putting items in their carts! Do you have any ideas? Jaide
No need to take it down, I was just suggesting that users may not want to order without SSL, and maybe not come back later (not knowing you have SSL pending) :)
Guest
you have a large number of broken links, looks like something to do with the design of your store. Your header information seems to go over the background image on the top. I have noticed this... I don't know why, but the page sometimes does this upon loading it up for the first time. If you visit another page, or refresh the index, you'll notice that the spacing goes back to normal. again, i'm not sure why this would do that. any ideas? thanks osCommerce V 2.2 ms 2 Current Contributions: Points and Reward Module | More_Pics_6 for 2.2 ms2 | Ultimate SEO URLs | Automatic Store Feeds v3.0 | Google XML Sitemap w/ Admin | New Attribute Manager | Quickbooks Import QBI | First Item $X, Additional Items $Y Shipping ...some custom hacks/tweaks, and probably a few more contributions I've overlooked

Steps to reproduce: 1. goto http://www.mirrorshirts.com/fuel-fire-c-114.html (or any other category will do) 2. click the orange icon for the a product (all of them show http://www.mirrorshirts.com/product_info.php?products_id=) and shows both with FF and IE. abra123cadabra
It took me a while to find your physical address. The next question would be if you ship to my country... but there is no shipping information and I'll not give you my personal information to find out during checkout. Once I put something in the cart, the remove box is ticked. Updating the cart removes it. You should fix this to be an empty checkbox. If I continue shopping and then decide to buy, I had to search for the shopping cart. Yes, there is this line at the top and there is even a navi link shopping cart but honestly, I only guessed that the line at the top might bring me to my cart. And yes, I really didn't see the other link. You need to make your checkout buttons and links more obvious. A potential customer will probably not search for it. Just saw, that the line at the top still reads 2 items in cart but the cart only shows one item. Something is wrong there. Adding an item from the listing (category, click on the cart icon) doesn't add anything and should actually lead to the product page so that I can select the size and colour. There is still a lot to do. Little things keep your customers from adding items to the cart. How are you driving traffic to your site? Did you check your bounce rate? What are your visitors doing once they are on your site? abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong. aflores3
enigma, great find! i couldn't find it b/c these buttons seem to work on the index.php page, but none of the category pages. I'll definitely fix this tonight. abra123, yes, the physical address is not obvious on the site. and neither is shipping info. I will put that in a more obvious place to let people know if our products are available to them before creating an account and proceeding to checkout. I'll work on a unticking the remove box as default. in hindsight, what i did is not very smart. I understand what you are saying about a checkout button and making it more obvious. I dont want to make anything too obtrusive, would you recommend a location for it? I was thinking about having our "REFLECT OR BE ORDINARY" quote at the top of my left column change to a large checkout button if cart contents != 0. thoughts? you say "that the line at the top still reads 2 items in cart but the cart only shows one item. Something is wrong there." this is do to the error enigma mentioned. seems the header mini cart registers as something being added when you click my broken add to cart buttons. This will be fixed when i fix my buttons. I use google analytics to track my site along with adwords to bring people in. I think my bounce rate is high (just under 50%). the ones that do stay, however, spend about 5 min on the site and visit 8 pages on avg, but none of these pages include the "checkout_success" page :(. This is the first time i've tracked traffic this meticulously, and i'm not happy with my results. maybe i have too much faith in my product, but i'm afraid people aren't buying because they don't fully understand my product, or maybe it just isn't good enough. As soon as I iron out the issues you have brought up, at least i can rule out a poorly designed website as the problem. I thank you all for your help. osCommerce V 2.2 ms 2 Current Contributions: Points and Reward Module | More_Pics_6 for 2.2 ms2 | Ultimate SEO URLs | Automatic Store Feeds v3.0 | Google XML Sitemap w/ Admin | New Attribute Manager | Quickbooks Import QBI | First Item $X, Additional Items $Y Shipping ...some custom hacks/tweaks, and probably a few more contributions I've overlooked
