Unable To Change Product Images In Catalog

Recommended Posts

I am trying to change out photos on some products and when I do I get the following message and the original photo remains:

"Error Error: Destination not writeable.

Warning Warning: No file uploaded.

Error Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/staymyba/public_html/osCommerce/catalog/images/"

I am also currently having database/MySQLproblems with Ipowerweb.

Can anyone tell me if this error message is osCommerce related or because of my server probems with Ipowerweb?

Thanks!

Linn

It's a "UNIX" thing...

Login to your Admin area.

Click on Configuration, then Tools, then File manager

Navigate to this folder:

home/staymyba/public_html/osCommerce/catalog

Look in the "Permissions" column next to your "Images" folder.

What does it say?

It should be something like this:

drwxrwx---

Your's may not have any w's there. And that would be the problem.

You may need to use your Hosters control panel to grant "Write" privileges to "USER" and "GROUP".

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
