terrielee Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I have searched and searched and I cannot find a support link for adding weight to product attributes. I have followed the installation instructions and my database says that the info is there however I can not find it in my admin. Can anyone send me a screenshot as I have no idea what it even looks like. It may not even be what I need. What I am trying to acheive is ITEM 20 pack 50 pack 100 pack these choices are in a drop down bar. So when they go to the checkout I need to have an allocated price for each product. Is the above contribution capable of doing this or am I looking in the wrong place?????
jdvb Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 try using the admin interface --> catalogue --> products atributes you get a nice drop down shown on your products_info.php as soon as you add those attributes to a product.

Hi thanks for getting back to me but I already have the attributes in place. I am trying to allocate weights to the individual attributes to give an accurate shipping cost.
terrielee Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Well I have checked and checked. I am also running product options maybe that is clashing with the add weight to products attributes. Does anyone have a screenshot of what the stupid thing is supposed to look like in my admin panel???? I know others have got it to work but that all seemed to be 3-4 years ago.

terrielee Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 I too am trying to add weights to product attributes. Can you share with me how you resolved it? Thanks, Tom Where are you stuck? Did you manage to get the weights added to the attributes ? It says weight to add. I also have option types installed so I am not sure if that changes the look of the products attributes table so I am reluctant to send you a screen shot cause it may look verrrry different. The error I made was in admin/products attributes. I used win merge which was not up to the job. I downloaded another diff program and was able to locate several changes. Let me know what stage you are up to and I will see if I can help.

I am able to set the attributes so these options are all available for a particular product with the varying prices. My challenge is that the CD is lighter than the DVD and the DVD is lighter than the VHS so the postage calculations are all off because it bases the weight on the initial weight I set the product up on. So in addition to a price column in the attributes, I need a weight column for each attribute. Does that help? Thank you, Tom

Thank you, Tom ok I am not sure if you have actually installed add weight to attributes and are stuck or if you are about to install it. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...t+to+attributes I used v.02. It does work it just needs some manipulation. I also installed actual prices to show correct prices for my attributes http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...h,actual+prices and in that was a contribution by Phil to add actual weight to the attributes.
