thewhere Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I have read and searched the fourms for 2 evenings I need some help please. I am not receiving any emails at all threw the site. No welcome email, orders, contact us, nothing. My host uses sendmail and this is the path to send mail. "/usr/sbin/sendmail" if I knew what file to edit to insert this I think I may be OK but am not able to get that far. My email options settings are set to. E-Mail Transport Method sendmail E-Mail Linefeeds LF Info Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails false Info Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS false Info Send E-Mails true I have tried changing sendmail to smpt and still nothing. I have also ran the email_test contribute and never received an email eithier. I have E-Mail Address, E-Mail From, Send Extra Order Emails all set with my actual email adress, I have also checked junk mail and have tried other emails. I am not receiving them. Can someone please give me a hand on getting me to be able to receive emails? Thank you
oschellas Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 It would be a good idea to ask your host why those mails are not sent, based on that answer you can try to find a solution for your problem.
strathq Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 JUST AN IDEA... it could be that the emails are being sent... but you are not receiving them. Have you tried an alternative email address? I know my domain send the emails and my set up reads the same as yours... BUT... I know that people using hotmail and AOL do not receive them. This i am told is because my smtp server does not send a valid reverse dns response... IE to tell the receivers I am genuine and it is stopped by filters set up to control spam.
dittones Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Jim Dugen, You may want to check and see if you have your php.ini set up correctly... I hope this helps... Roman dittone.com
thewhere Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 Jim Dugen,You may want to check and see if you have your php.ini set up correctly... I hope this helps... Roman dittone.com Hi Roman, My host does not grant me access to the php.ini file, however they have said to let them know what I need done to it. So I am trying to pinpoint this problem. Could it be the php.ini file? If so what should the file look like? I get no errors from osC It seems like there are alot of issues with email problems however, none of the post that I have found on the fourm has a soulution or even informs anyone of where the problems could be. I have sent several emails to the host letting them know my email issues with no luck in them helping. What can I do next to trouble shoot this problem???
