I Broke It!

I got all kocky thinking I could do this myself, and I broke it!

I am still in the process of setting up my store, and I wanted the first page to not have all that junk on it that is only for me. So I went to /my-domain.com/catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php and I erased all their verbage, and entered my own html and verbage. Now my store comes up a blank page! What did I do, and how do I fix it? Thanks!

then go easy on it, read a little bit the osc documentation there should be a document included in the archive and there is an online version,

Then change the TEXT_MAIN only see what it does.

And there are a lot of contributions that can enhance page editing in general so you could edit things from the osc admin end.

Thank you, I was able to fix the problem.

Can I change the background color and font colors where I was?

I don't see in the admin any place to change any of that.

the background color as well the text color and in general most of the layout control is in the catalog\stylesheet.css. It's a css file so you can edit it with a regular editor and change the fields you want.

Whenever I make any adjustments and click "save" when I go to zanniesattic.com/catalog, the page is blank. I have tried just erasing the standard text that is there without touching the html, but nothing seems to make a difference. I am not doing it thru OsCommerce's File Manager, I am doing it thru my hosts file manager.

And make sure you do the changes using a regular editor in your local pc. Do not change files on-line. Use and ftp program to upload/download files.
