Hello,

Ok....so I am trying to build a store for my boss. I figured since I know HTML better than php and all that ...I would try this template.

Well I have it installed....but now I am stuck.

Here are the instructions from the STS v4 readme files...

"Configuration

Go to admin panel – modules. You should see a new link in the left column: “STS”.
Click on it and a list of modules appears. Those modules are in “catalog/includes/modules/sts”."

I have everything copied to my catalog and uploaded to the server....when i go to my admin panel - modules...the STS link is not there!

Can anyone help this newbie????

Jen, You did not do a full installation and are missing at least the admin side of the contribution. Be sure to check that you have installed ALL of the files that are included in the contribution package. It is best to use a file comparison utility such as Beyond Compare to be sure you did not miss anything.

By the way, STSv4.5.2 is the most currect release as of 5/31/2007.

I just tried STSv4.5.2 on a fresh osc install and got the same results as Jen. I triple checked all the changes listed in the install instructions. So I started over with another fresh osc install and tried STSv4.3.3 this time. Same results - no STS link in admin. Please help.

Sorry to hear you are having problems but since you are getting the same results I have to give the same answer as above. This is an installation issue.

What is the name of the folder that has all of the osCommerce files (catalog files) and where is it located on your web site? The installation instructions dicatate that the install would be according to your folder structure of your store.

For example: If your osc files are in a folder called "catalog", then that would be the root folder to base the rest of the contribution installation on.

Example tree (showing only 2 deep):

STS contribution download comes as below:

catalog (general root term used to express the collection of osc files)

-admin

--includes

-includes

--classes

--languages

--functions

--modules

--sts_templates

Your osCommerce may look something like this:

myshop (or whatever folder name you installed osc into)

-admin

--images

--includes

-includes

--boxes

--classes

--functions

--local

--languages

--modules

-images

-download

-pub

NOTE: I have heard of some web hosts "auto" installers actually place the osc admin folder outside of the catalog (osc files). This would not be a "normal" osc installation and I would not recommend doing it that way since it would cause all kinds of installation issues when trying to add contributions.
