bluns1
Hey all, I am planning to open a brand new oscommerce store by the end of the year which is about the time people are guessing that 3.0 is comming out. Anyways, I wish to build my websites now so it can be spidered and hopefully be taken out of googles sandbox by the time I am ready to launch at the end of the year. Therefore I wish to open a osCommerce 2.2 store now using seo hacks that will be compatible with version 3.0 when it comes out. Any idea which Seo contribution would be best? Obviously when 3.0 comes out I want to keep the same structure and do not want any of my products changing their address. Thanks a lot! :)
Jack_mcs
Who's guessing it will be out then? I, for one, doubt that it will be. But even if it is, it will probably be this time next year before it is stable enough to use. And whenever it is stable enough to use, it is very unlikely that many of the current contributions will work with it. So, in short, if you need a shop now, use the latest MS 2 version. This is just my opinion and Harold may disagree. There is a support thread for MS 3. You may want to ask there. Actually I think you are probably correct I guess I just want to get the SEO aspect of my website right now, so it doesnt come back to bite me in the you know what when it does comes time to upgrade. I have spent a great deal of time reading up on the various contributions that are out there. Unless I have missed something, none of them seem to display URLs the way I want it. Are there any contributions that can format a url like this? http://www.mysite.com/category/name-of-product-01.html eg http://www.mybookstore.com/automotive/auto-trader-01.html
