Transfering Hosting Company - Is It Hard To Move A Store?

Hi All

 

I'm wondering how hard it is to move a store over to some new hosting..

 

Can anyone tell me if all my customers details and orders will be kept?

 

Plesk 8.1 to cpanle/WHM

 

any advice greatly appreciated..

theoretically you only need to modify the configure.php files to use the new server. Database and other osc files you can transfer without mods. In any case keep backups of the files/dbase.

Absolutely right theoretically it would be a simple thing to do.But may I add something practically. It is just like moving house (btw No I am not moving house at the moment) you got to know both your new & old house. For servers that host osc shops, things like PHP & MySql versions, register globals, safe mode, and even small things like cURL (eg, if you use paypal website pro) modules, these may all make or break you osc shop. Plesk or cPanel or Ensim is less or no relevant.
