Guest Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Here's a question Here in the UK we are not supposed to store the credit card details on a server as the merchant account supplier frowns heavily on this and may even cancel the account as there is a high risk of fraud etc. I would ideally like to have the payments taken directly by someone be it either a bank or PSP such as Protx etc BUT the company I am building the store for supplies organic meat and the meat packaged does not always match the order taken (you can't cut a joint of meat to an exact weight everytime) and therefore the ammount charged to the card does not match the fee charged on the store site. So at present we are processing the orders and then taking the payment as customer not present once the order has been sent. This is not allowed for internet orders even with an Internet Merchant Account!!! Does anyone have a solution to this, how can we store the card details securely? Does using the split card details in the CC.php module meet the requirements here? I'd appreciate any advice on this one. Mark
Guest Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 You need a PSP that suports pre-auth transactions - Protx are in the process of launching a new service that does this (authorise/authenticate) that will be ready July/August - when the customer places and order their card is checked for a certain value then when you are ready you later charge the card the actual amount (upto 115% of the original authorisation) Other PSP probably offer a similar facility
