Guest
Hi, I'm sure I've seen this question before, but not sure if it got an answer.. and can't find it again anyway. Basically I'm mucking about with the coding for the paypal module and was wondering if there was any possible way of 'testing' paypal. Such as you can do with credit cards by inserting a number of 41111... etc. Thanks
Jack_mcs
You need to setup a paypal sandbox account. You will have to go through the same procedure for creating a real account (except they don't verify bank information), then you can use it like a real paypal account, except no charges are made. Guest
Is it just the usual sign-up process, or is there a seperate link I need to click on to set-up a sandbox account?

Guest
hmmm.. I can't access the sanbox.. I'm not recieving the activation email. Does anyone else have this problem?
Jack_mcs
As I recall, you don't receive emails for activation. It simulates a real account but some things are different. Log into the accout and make sure the email and bank accounts are confirmed. It should be ready to use at that point. I go to www.developer.paupal.com and type in my email address and password and it says I need to activate my account before I can use it.. with an activation link. I click the link, it ays an email has been sent but I recieve no email. I've been trying this since yesterday..
Jack_mcs
It has been so long since I created one, I don't remember it all. But you can create as many accounts as you want as long as you use a different email address. So try it again with some other address, making sure it is a working, valid one. If no one else here knows the procedure off the top of their head, you can visit the paypal developers forum and they will be able to help you. Jack You probably figured this out by now, but for anyone else... after you login to developers center, there's a tab marked e-mail where they'll send all of the activation and other e-mails. That's so it doesn't get confusing coming into your "real" e-mail box.
Guest
Hi, The problem was sorted a while ago. Paypal were having a problem with their sign-up service to set up a sandbox account (not the individual accounts withing your sandbox account). For some reason they weren't activating and they were manually activating them every day or so. The problems now sorted and accounts are activating as usual.
