Products Not Showing

I have a strange problem with my oscommerce

I added a new manufacturer no problem with this, it show is the manufacturer list.

I added a new category no problem here either it shows in the category list.

I addad two new products to the manufacturer and category.

In the admin pages they are there, the active button is set for green and there are 100 of them in stock.

Now come the strange part, When i click on the category link I get a empty page with "Manufacturer" text in the top.

If I select the new manufacturer from the dropdownlist all I get is a blank page.

All the standard test categories and manufacturers included in the install package works fine.

What did I forget to do?

I also checked the html code generated and it stops rendering when my new products is to be shown

this is the END OF FILE

<!-- new_products //-->

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

<tr>

<td height="14" class="contentBoxHeading"><img src="images/contentBox/corner_left.gif" border="0" alt=""></td>

<td height="14" class="contentBoxHeading" width="100%">Nya produkter</td>

<td height="14" class="contentBoxHeading"><img src="images/contentBox/corner_right_left.gif" border="0" alt=""></td>

</tr>

</table>

So something is wrong, the products is however showing nicely in the admin pages, it's just in the storefront they don't work.

If I deactivate the products the site works fine again.

I seem to have figured it out.. the category image have to be a gif image? is this true? is there some fix to have jpgs?

I changed the image to gif and now everything works.. it's very strange and something that would be classed as a bug I think if it is like this in all OsCommerce installations :(
