Guest Posted May 26, 2007 Share Posted May 26, 2007 HI I want to install oscommerse but each time I try to set the permissions of the congigure.php to 777 for full access it just resets back to 644. Even in the control panel of my web server if when I click on install it gives me this error: The osCommerce installation was not successful. This means that osCommerce will have to be installed manually. Call your support number. The server is using MySQL Databases: 5 If any one can help me with a link to a solution it would be very much appreciated... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
♥Vger Posted May 26, 2007 Share Posted May 26, 2007 Use the osCommerce installer but set the permissions on those files using the File Manager in your web hosting control panel. Make sure you use the latest version of osCommerce 2.2 MS2 from www.oscommerce.com and don't try to use an Auto-Install script from your hosting company - I doubt it's the latest version. Even if you do manage to install the default version I doubt the coding of any of the larger contributions is compatible with MySQL 5. You really need to be using MySQL 4 for osCommerce.
