Hello guys,

I want to alter the action of the product URL redirect. First an explanation of the redirect from one of the oscommerce authors:

 

"The redirect.php file supplied with osCommerce is designed to provide redirection to offsite links."

 

This is all very well if you are using a product URL to another site but it is not very SEO friendly as it contains a goto and tokens as in the example below.

 

http://www.westcountrywatercolours.com/cat...painting-01.htm

 

This actually becomes:

 

http://www.westcountrywatercolours.com/web...painting-01.htm

 

As you can see from the first example it is not a pretty URL and is not necessary as the file resides in a parallel folder to the catalog folder. One should be able to use in the field where you add the product URL just this ../web_pages/painting-01.htm However you cannot avoid using redirect.php, it is automatic and expects a full URL.

 

Is there anyway around this?
