fpgifts Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 (edited) i am trying to build a website with multiple departments that are independent but share an admin... they have multiple manufacturers that need to be searchable... for example, we sell furniture and appliances - i need to have the furniture manufacturers separate from the appliance manufacturers... i've set up the "second manufacturer" contribution and it works wonderfully!! the problem now is that i need to have one index page where they can decide whether they want to shop for furniture or appliances... and then, based on their selection, they will be redirected to a different "store"... my options are to set up an html index page and have a subdirectory with an independent catalog for each department (aka "store").... but i don't know how to make the subdirectories send the order info for both subdirectories back to the same admin... the second option is to install a contribution... i've looked at the mini-store (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1534) and multi shops (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4261)... and would like some feedback.... does anyone have either of these on a working (or even demo) site that i could see functionality... also, does anyone have any suggestion (knowing what i'm trying to accomplish) as to which solution would work best?? or, are there any other options that would be better suited?? thanks so much!!
