Include Category When Ordering

I am wondering if there is a way to include the Category when adding a product to the cart? My client has products that span multiple categories but for each category is specific to that category. They sell T-Shirts with transfers applied to them. Her categories are the transfers and then the T-Shirt styles available are the products in the categories. I want to use the Linked Product Copy feature to apply the shirts to the appropriate catgegories but I also need to know the Transfer Style to be included with the order. If I can somehow include the Category name in the Order this would solve this issue?

 

Does anyone have any ideas?
